HATCH COVER SEALING AND UNSEALING IN CONSTANTA

Independent Sealing and Unsealing of Vessel Hatch Covers

General view of hold split joint sealed by plastic numbered clip seal

UNIS INSPECTIONS provides independent hatch cover sealing and unsealing in Constanta, Romania, for shipowners, charterers and cargo interests. Our service includes applying numbered plastic security seals, checking seal condition before removal, and documenting seal numbers and locations with photographs and a sealing or unsealing report.

Documented sealing at the loading port and seal checks before unsealing at the discharge port help protect the interests of shipowners, charterers and cargo owners by providing a record of seal condition that can support the investigation of shortage-related claims.

SEALING

Hatch covers are sealed after loading has been completed and hatch covers closed and arranged in a sea-going position. The seal numbers and locations are recorded, photographed and included in the sealing report.

UNSEALING

Upon arrival at the discharge port, the seals should be inspected and witnessed by all agreed parties to confirm that they are intact before being removed. As during the sealing procedure, the seal numbers and locations are recorded, photographed and included in the unsealing report.

SERVICE INCLUDES

REPORTING

The sealing report contains the seal numbers, sealing locations on the vessel and includes photographs of the applied seals.

The unsealing report contains the seal numbers, sealing locations on the vessel, photographic evidence of seals and remarks on any deficiencies noted during the inspection.
